LED street lighting retrofit operations is enjoying a great popularity in US and UK

The report on June 13th 2014 said that the British Liverpool government had decided to spend  £7,000,000 replacing existing orange sodium street lights with brighter LED energy-saving lamps including LED street lights and LED tunnel lights in the next 2 years. Joe Anderson，Mayor of Liverpool said, LED lights can improve illumination so that make the streets safer, the annual carbon dioxide emissions also can be reduced by 1,400 tons; once retrofitting LED street lights and LED tunnel lights，£ 2.7 million maintenance costs would be reduced in five years.

       

Liverpool will start the first phase of retrofit operations from June 2014, local 12,000 street lights will be replaced with the new LED street lights and LED tunnel lights. There are total of 57,000 street lights in Liverpool, the annual energy cost will be $ 2.6 million pounds.
