China Beijing Capital Airport has started the LED energy-saving projects for the parking (GTC) light source

China Beijing Capital Airport has started the LED energy-saving projects for the parking (GTC) light source on the 3rd floor by the end of 2013 to implement the national energy conservation and create green energy, and further implementation of the ” Green Capital Airport construction program”. As of April 24 , the airport has been successfully completed first and second renovation projects of GTC LED tube T8 and other indoor and outdoor LED lighting source. The transformation covers the normal fluorescent lighting and normal lighting lamps in public areas on first ground floor of GTC basement, garage of second ground floor . Reconstruction project is divided into two phases of the implementation，the first phase is the transformation of fluorescent in underground parking area , a total of 10,000 sets of lighting were transformed , the original 36 -watt T8 straight fluorescent tube was replaced with the 19 -watt LED tube T8 to achieve the luminous flux 2000 lumens , luminous efficiency is greater than 75 lm / W, the original 10,000 hours lifespan is extended to more than 30,000 hours . The second phrase of GTC project is transformation of other areas with lights . The 8983 sets of fluorescent lamps , 2120 sets of downlights  110 sets of loops streetlights were replaced in GTC other areas. 36 -watt fluorescent lamp fluorescent replaced with the 19 -watt LED tube T8 achieve more than 2000 lumens luminous flux , luminous efficiency is greater than 75 lumens / watt, life is extended to more than 30,000 hours . downlight replaced with 13 watt LED fixtures achieve not less than 400 lumens luminous flux , system efficiency ≥ 75 lm / W is to extend the service life of over 50,000 hours . Street lights replaced with LED lamps is to achieve not less than 600 lumens luminous flux , system efficiency is ≥ 85 lm / W to extend the service life of over 50,000 hours .

It is reported that there are about millions of dollars in the annual electricity consumption in a total construction area of ​​340,000 square meters of GTC according to the partition open mode that is 1 / 3 on day 2/3 at night. By replacing the light source with LED tube T8 and other indoor and outdoor LED lighting for GTC, the China Beijing Capital Airport made ​​a major breakthrough in the field of the light source, GTC annual saving rate is expected to reach 30%.
