As we all know, the traditional
incandescent lamp has such defects as high energy consumption,
low efficiency. Based on energy conservation and environmental considerations,
North America, Europe, Japan
and Taiwan
are gradually plan to stop the sale of incandescent light. LED bulb, owing to
its high brightness, low power consumption, long life and environmental
protection, etc., become the preferred alternative to traditional incandescent
lamps. However, LED is a directional light source, it needs an effective light
distribution pattern to achieve that it converses the small angle of the light
into full light.
For the full range of lighting, the U.S.
Energy Star made a strict definition, namely: light intensity should be gradual
changed in the range of0o-135o vertical angle, the light intensity at any angle
in this interval requires intensity value of 80% -120% in this interval average,
and at least 5% of the total luminous flux should between 135o-180o.

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology
Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as: ASTRI) LED lighting R & D
team has successfully applied for the Hong Kong Government's Innovation and
Technology Support. Programme,they will research and develop full light bulb type for a period of
eleven months. In response to this issue, research team first conducted for
existing products and technical research. Currently, many large international
companies such as Philips, Osram, Panasonic, etc. have launched a 40W to 60W
incandescent alternatives. Table 1 gives the major manufacturers 60W

LED's power needs at least more than 10W.
On the technical side, we generally use two
methods to replace the traditional incandescent , one is the use of optical
components such as lenses, mirrors, and diffuser, etc. to adjust the
light-emitting pattern, thus producing a full range of light. Another one is
through three-dimensional arrangement of the LED chip in all directions so that
the light intensity is issued uniform. Here are a few typical design adopting two
ways:
Patents CN101839410 (Figure b), the present

CN102679219 (Figure III) describes a

CN102486267 (Figure IV) uses a compound
lens to achieve the beam divergence. This compound lens can be divided into
three parts, one part is in the top of the central lens, LED light source can be part of
the light emitted divergence. The second part of the wing-shaped lens, the
light is partially reflected to the lower bulb periphery. The third part is the
bottom of the lens may be the surface of the light reflective shine to the
periphery of the upper bulb.
US20130027928 (Figure V), wherein the
structure is formed by the two substrates. Wherein one substrate is placed
horizontally, placed above a number of LED elements. Another piece of the
substrate is an annular structure, and the first block is placed on the
substrate at an angle. The outer annular substrate is placed in a number of LED
elements measured. Thus, the first LED provide on one substrate of the light
source direction, the second substrate to the edges of the LED as a light
source. So as to achieve the purpose of full light.
These patents need strong R & D team
